Broody bantams

Post by Jenelle on Mon Dec 15, 2008 4:12 pm

Hi. Does anyone have or know of a broody bantam we could buy or borrow to sit on some eggs? We're not having any luck with our incubator, so thought Mother Nature might have more luck. Merry Christmas everyone.

I always have several broody bantams Jenelle. Probably easier for her to hatch them here and we can block off the little "maternity unit" so other jealous broody ones do not steal them or she gets off them to sit on fresh eggs. I would be delighted if you want to bring the eggs here - anytime. If you pick her up and take her to a new scary place I am not sure that she would remain broody.

If I know you want to borrow an incubator I will reinforce this by leaving an egg in the box this morning and by lunch time I bet either Batwoman or Phyllis will be on it. Batwoman raised the 6 little Australorps.
