My Heritage rose bed is looking glorious at present. Long canes drip with beautiful blooms on the ramblers and the bushes are plump with buds and blooms. With something around 300 roses in this circular area the perfume is divine. Growth has been so luxuriant that I have to fight my way into the inner circle. My imagination works overtime and I see myself with sword in hand slashing my way into the centre to find who knows what hidden treasure!

Hi All,

Thought you would be interested in Wendy's ATV (All Terrain Vehicle) for gardening. It cost $10 at the Berry Dump plus the cost of a new tube and it almost carries as much as her handbag.

Now I am going to post the photo but I have had a lot of trouble with this since I'm rather PC inept....so if it doesn't come through, I will try again.

Do you have any unusual garden gadgets?

Cheers,

Dave Christian

Grace the chook/duck has been sitting on duck eggs for 6 weeks. Last egg "dispatched" yesterday. She puts them in the water container with a float. This egg had a 3/4 hatched duckling. She did this every week or so to all the other eggs - one egg at a time. It is about 12 feet downhill from her nest to the water trough which is a foot off the ground so it would not have been easy for her to put it in there and there would be no one else, except chooks, who might do it (very secure ...

Tosca is a very loved Australorp hen. I think she was brushed by my foal's leg (go away pesky fly) and she had a sore leg/wing and could not walk. She also lost some of her comb (maybe pecked) and was very dejected but had a good appetite. She has lived in an enclosed garden near my house (and a laundry box at night) for more than a fortnight and is now walking fine but she is very timid if another chook approaches and hides in the bushes. I think she needs some "status" (not the ...

This would take the pressure off one household and provide more experience for the woofers. As well, many of us live quite a long way from the village and woofers are young people who often require the extra stimulus of a nightlife. Any ideas? Lee

This is a pretty salvia. About a metre high and lovely light to mid blue flowers for a long time in summer. I have masses to give away as it spreads like mad in my boggy garden. New little plants spring up all the time. If you want 20 or so, just give me a call. Better to fill a wettish area with than weeds! Does OK in non -boggy soil but may not spread so rapidly. Looks pretty with roses.
