Garden Gadgets

Post by wendy on Thu Nov 06, 2008 1:57 pm

Hi All,

Thought you would be interested in Wendy's ATV (All Terrain Vehicle) for gardening. It cost $10 at the Berry Dump plus the cost of a new tube and it almost carries as much as her handbag. Laughing

Now I am going to post the photo but I have had a lot of trouble with this since I'm rather PC inept....so if it doesn't come through, Embarassed I will try again.

Do you have any unusual garden gadgets?

Cheers,

Dave Christian

I want one!! Waw!!!!!!!!!!! Not fair!!!!!!!!!

Seriously - I love it! If you ever see another baby trolley at the tip, please let me know.

Thanks to Garden Club members, I now have cream California Poppies, what I always wanted. Sorry realise I should not have hijacked Wendy's thread.

Dave and Wendy

I saw a pram/ stroller on the Council pick up road verge and so popped it in my ute. Only trouble is it is missing 3 of 4 wheels.

Is this a problem? Maybe. It might end up at the tip lol!

oh sad - it is so pretty with a lovely tray for all my bits. I thought I might find some wheels at another tip. Am I the supreme optimist?

Yes! But I also think that there will be wheels somewhere. What size do you need and I'll keep a look out for you. Lee

The big wheel at the back is 22 cm diameter but I could change the one there if you found two to match - there is a metal shaft that goes into the wheel centre. The front two are smaller I imagine.

Thanks Lee ...

And when you do get it rolling Pamela don't forget to kit it up in style - a drink bottle holder, small towel, string, pens and a notebook - if you are like me, good intentions of remembering to move a plant later remain good intentions unless you actually write it down on a to do list. (or tying a bright ribbon around it at the time)I also have a couple of rolls of crepe bandage and a whistle incase i am bitten by a snake and no one is nearby to help. Dave is primed to come running if he hears the whistle! I have paperbags (to gather seeds) and plastic bags (to keep cuttings moist), different gloves for different jobs, all the gardening utensils, WD40 - great to spray on those annoying weeds in paths as it kills them almost instantly. I also have a little blow torch for similar tasks. Safety goggles, plant labels (made from old venetian blinds)tape, numerous hose connections, Hmm I've forgotten what else there is but I tell you it has been wonderful. Before I had my ATV I was constantly wasting time going to and from the garden shed in search of things, now it is all at hand and i am not having to lug my builders tool kit bag around which was becoming very heavy - now it is on the pram and all the pockets and clips are just as useful as before.
